Renovate Life Church is a member of the Assemblies of God Churches.  It was the vision of Pastor Ann Strickland who saw a great need among the young people of St Annes on Sea who were largely untouched by existing churches in the town. She started ‘Renovate Rock Church’ for young people in the Joya night club in Wood St.  This was a great success and it then became obvious that there was a need for a broader church reaching all ages.   So Renovate Rock Church became Renovate Life Church.   It started off with a small church meeting in Ann’s apartment.  Then the use of a hotel room was negotiated.  Unfortunately this was very soon nipped in the bud as the hotel’s guests complained of the noise of singing etc when they wanted to stay in bed on a Sunday morning, and the hotel asked us to leave!  After a short stint in the YMCA Ann obtained the use of the old Casino in the Island on the Promenade.  This was a great success and plans were made to start children’s and Teens’ meetings.  Unfortunately the owners of the Island went into liquidation recently and so we were forced to go back where we started – in Ann’s apartment!
Life is never boring with Renovate Life Church.
